IE7 Select Drop Down Box Disabled Styling

So here is some HTML:

<select name="status" id="status" tabindex="6" disabled="disabled"></select>

Here is some CSS:

*:first-child+html select {
width:156px;; /* IE7 */
background-color:#ffffff;
border:1px solid #7f9db9 !important;
}
select {
display: block;
width: 154px;
float: left;
margin-bottom: 10px;
border:1px solid #7f9db9;
background-color:#ebebe4;
}

I was able to get the background color of the disabled element to change to white.

But I can't change the border color...

Does anyone know how to alter the border color?

I am basically trying to get all the elements to look the same when disabled...and the select element is being retarded.
