I'm really sorry if this has been answered already, but I didnt see anything specific to my problem.

I get the above message when I try to start Apache, so I knew that something was blocking the port.  I looked up the process ID, and checked in the task manager, and apparently the System task is using the port.

What should I do?  It works if I switch to a different port, but I can't clear port 80 for some reason.

I think I'm going to have to disagree with you that a system process is using port 80.  I would suggest downloading TCPView located at the following page:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/Networking/TcpView.mspx

What application do you see that is using port 80?
