chigley
These URLs are made possible by an Apache mod_rewrite command via a .htaccess file, I'd suggest Googling it and reading up about it!
jaikar
Hi Thankyou about the info, i guessed it would be from apache but i done know the key word to search for. thankyou for the keyword.. (mod_rewrite). also do you have idea about why many cms systems and blog programs are so much twisted.. i too write customised cms having better functionalities, but mine is very much straight forward. i include the header and footer and in between i code for each page.. but i tried to understand the cms made simple program and i am not able to understand fully which is actually easy compared to joomla. they are so twisted and complicated. i dont know whats the difference between what i write and what they do while both have almost same funcitons. adding / filtering content and uploading etc.. can you please explain why ? chigley
It tends to make page URLs more friendly, eg: /shownews.php?cat=13&post=990 /news/13/990/index.html Just an example of how it can be used
