Using classes for 1st time

Hi!

I use PHP for some time and now I'm trying to improve my code by using classes, which I never did before.

I'm facing some problems. Let's see: I have a lot of functions in a separate file - functions.php - which is included in every file that uses those functions.

functions.php also include MySQL-related functions such OpenDB(), QueryDB that are used by many functions in the same file.

Now, I have the MySQL class in a separate file, so I'm including that file in functions.php. The question is: I have to create a new object ( $conn= new MySQL()M) in every function that uses mysql or I just need to create one object and make it global ?  ???

Thanks for any help!
