socalnate
Which link is better for SEO? Link1: http://beta.website.com/portal/18692/link.html -or- Link2: http://beta.website.com/portal/18692_link.html ? I think link 1 is better if I'm not mistaken...not sure why though? Comments? Suggestions? (FYI I'll be using a mod_rewrite command with this so it'll actually be pointing to a completely different page.) Cheers! Humpty
I didn't actually think it would matter at all

HaLo2FrEeEk
Becuase it's only dynamic links that search engine crawlers don't like, such as: http://example.com/index.php?someattribute=77 That wouldn't work, the search engine would only pick up http://exmaple.com/index.php It doesn't matter if you use /, _, -, or anything like that though. Nakor
These days almost every search engine can index dynamic pages just fine =) But you will find that the first link-type will be indexed a lot faster than the second deep-folder link. Humpty
Don't think so eh? Why not? Sorry for delay in response, I have no idea why I thought it, I just didn't think it mattered. As a human looking at it I would rather read it as directory 18692, don't know why either, just appeals to me more.
