gambrker
I took on a task of opening an online store for a client. I think that I bit off more than I can chew. I purchased an osCommerce template with PHP files, and I've uploaded them to the server. But I cant seem to get to the file that looks like the template. I keep getting an osCommerce home page. I really have no clue what I'm doing. My expertise is in Flash and HTML. The template is located in the following location: www.dhousegallery.com/onlinestore/index.html Thanks in advance, GAMBRKER Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/62591-beginner-help/ Share on other sites

gambrker
Sorry, that was a typo on my part. If you navigate to that location, you'll see the home page for osCommerce and not the php template I purchased. :-\ Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/62591-beginner-help/#findComment-313960 Share on other sites
kyleldi
Often times when you buy a template like those you'll find the functional index.php file in one of the folders, so people who upload an entire site to a server have content on their page instead of a blank template. I know places like template monster do it. I'd check any sort of help file you may have or look in your dirs. Other then that, i'm not exactly sure what you're asking... gambrker
Well, it didnt come with a help file, but maybe I can try explaining it a little different. The root file of the template contains many php files (including index.php). If I open the file to edit, say in dreamweaver, I can see that it is the home page of the template based on the bg color and other properties. Now, there are subfolders which contain osCommerce files. What it seems like, is that if I go to "dhousegallery.com/onlinestore" or dhousegallery.com/onlinestore/index.php" it is like the page is being redirected to a subfolder containing the osCommerce index file (because that is what shows up on the screen). Hopefully this helps. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/62591-beginner-help/#findComment-314060 Share on other sites
