atr112001
Ive just started trying to play with Apache, and I am trying to install it on my windows xp machine, so I can get comfortable with it. I installed it as a service, and all seemed to go well, except when i type 127.0.0.1 into my address bar in firefox, it doesnt confirm that apache is running, but instead says "unable to connect" even when I turn off my firewall and other protection. This occurs despite the fact that on my system tray, apache has a green triangle and says " all servers are running" when you mouse over it, and the error log shows no errors. Does anyone have any clues on how I can get apache to work?
apacheguy
It may be possible that while installing it you checked the listen to port 8080 instead of the standard port 80. Verify that apache is listening to port 80 and try again. If that fails, I would recommend that you check your error log.
