Morbid
Hello everybody, just started learning PHP (or attempting to anyway) and I've run into a few issues concerning string manipulations. Is it possible to slice strings? Or what Python calls slicing anyway. So, if I had a string...$string = "Here's some text."Would it be possible to extract only the word 'some'?I've been searching around via Google, but have been unable to locate anything due to the difference in terminology.Any help would be greatly appreciated. toplay
You can usually find the functions you need at php.net. Here is a link to all the string functions:[a href=\"http://us2.php.net/manual/en/ref.strings.php\" target=\"_blank\"]http://us2.php.net/manual/en/ref.strings.php[/a]There's lots of functions available depending what you want to do. There's even more complex search (and replace) capabilities:[a href=\"http://us2.php.net/manual/en/ref.regex.php\" target=\"_blank\"]http://us2.php.net/manual/en/ref.regex.php[/a][a href=\"http://us2.php.net/manual/en/ref.pcre.php\" target=\"_blank\"]http://us2.php.net/manual/en/ref.pcre.php[/a]
