bobohob
hello, I have sneak-peeked several editors for PHP. Some of it (particularly Komodo) has an "edge-line" (a straight continuous vertical line along the text area, NOT an indent-guide). What is this for ?? Many thanks. bobohob
Please notice the vertical line (grey) on the right side. [attachment deleted by admin]
NArc0t1c
It could be where description's or a file browser can be.
bobohob
No, it's not. I am sure about it. here is another image... [attachment deleted by admin]
NArc0t1c
I'm afraid I don't know then. Try contacting the tech's. I though it was like my editor(one of them). See the attachment. [attachment deleted by admin]
Aeglos
That would be the 80-column marker, to let you know when you're lines are "too long". Read the first part, "4.1 Line length" here: http://java.sun.com/docs/codeconv/html/CodeConventions.doc3.html Or check some short recent slashdot rant about the issue here (Didn't find it very insightful though). http://ask.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/07/07/1931246
bobohob
Thanks. Though I never encounter problems (yet ?) for trespassing 80 columns.
