RSS Feed Problem

Hi Guys,

 

my rss feed seems to have an error code:

<rss version="2.0">
<channel>
<title>www.site.com</title>
<description>Indexing Site</description>
<link>http://www.site.com</link>
<copyright>(c) 2007</copyright>
<?php
$query = "SELECT * FROM files LIMIT 0,15 ORDER BY date_added DESC";
$result = mysql_query($query);
while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) {
$title = $row['file_name'];
?>
     <item>
        <title></title>
        <description></description>
        <link></link>
        <pubDate></pubDate>
     </item>  
<?php
} 
?>  
</channel>
</rss>

 

(theres nothing in the elements because it doesn't get past the query i get:

 

<a href="function.mysql-query">function.mysql-query</a> 
  ]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in 
  <b>/mounted-storage/home50b/sub004/sc34594-KIRK/test.xml

 

i made the access file ok i think:.htaccess

 

AddType application/x-httpd-php .xml

 

any help would be great

the query syntax is wrong. try

 

$query = "SELECT * FROM files ORDER BY date_added DESC LIMIT 0,15";
