Help, use Rewrite for "global" running directory listing script?

I have a directory listing script that list the contents of a folder. I want this script to execute anywhere on my webserver wherever someone is accessing a http directory list.

I have no idea so far, I am guessing it has something to do with REQUEST_URI. But how do I put it into correct syntax

RewriteEngine on

        RewriteCond    %{REQUEST_URI}  -d

        RewriteRule    /$      /browse/list.php

list.php is my script that display a folder

/browse is a directory in my www-root.

So If I access ~f00/philes this "request" is noted by the webserver, /browse/list.php kicks in and displays files in this folder. I have seen this done - but I dont know how to do it myself.

Please, I would really like some help with this. Thanks!
