site works in FF but not IE

I get an error saying object expected

Could it be to do with the type command im not sure how to remove it and leave the css sheet active if thats the case :

I just found the following error in the firefox error console , not sure what they mean though :

unknow psuedo- class or psuedo element 'a'. rule set ignored due to bad sector...filelocation

MM_preload images not found.

i fixed the problem the file location path was wrong,

This did not solve the whole problem though, my top banner appears perfectly in firefox but just as line in IE . It has something to do with my rep,jpg this is a screen filler and makes my banner fill the op part of the page but in IE it gets flipped and the banner itself dosent even appear?
