Hello i want to do a simple insert into my database. The code works but nothing is inserted. I have removed the usernames and passwords for obvious reasons.

<?php

$db_server ="db1125.oneandone.co.uk";
     $db_user = "Poo";
     $db_pass = "123";
     $db_name = "adam";

$con = mysql_connect("$db_server","$db_user","$db_pass");

if ($con)
  echo "Have a nice weekend!";
else
  echo "poo";

mysql_select_db("db218351279", $con);
mysql_query("INSERT INTO albums (album_id,album_name, album_desc,album_cover)
VALUES ('0', 'Peter', 'Griffin' , 'yes')");

?></body>
</html>

add

or die('Invalid query: ' . mysql_error())

to any sql statements you think arn't working... e.g.

mysql_select_db("db218351279", $con) or die('Invalid query: ' . mysql_error());
mysql_query("INSERT INTO albums (album_id,album_name, album_desc,album_cover) VALUES ('0', 'Peter', 'Griffin' , 'yes')") or die('Invalid query: ' . mysql_error());

You might want to use try / catch statements later though!

Call me old fashioned, but I'd say that means it doesn't work.

Try changing the query to this...

mysql_query("INSERT INTO albums (album_id,album_name, album_desc,album_cover)
VALUES ('0', 'Peter', 'Griffin' , 'yes')") or die (mysql_error());
