rewrite, quicky

Hey guys,

I haven't posted here in a few months, kinda been out of the business a little but getting back in to it. Well I am trying to make url's such as: www.something.com/about_us.php be able to display in the browser like: www.something.com/about_us and still run the page about_us.php. Here is what I have for the .htaccess;

 

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^([0-9]+)/$ /$1.php

 

Any help much appreciated.

When I do that, I get this error:

 

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
