OhDamn
I loaded XAMPP with Apache 2.2.4 a couple of weeks ago and it has been running fine. Today the Apache service has been running at 100% of processor capacity as seen on Windows Task Manager. This morning I deleted EclipsePHP because it had too many optional packages and downloaded a new version of EclipsePHP with just the basics. About the time I started Eclipse, Apache took off. Even if I stop Eclipse, Apache still takes 100% of the processor capacity. Is there a tool that I can download to see what Apache is doing? In Task Manager, I can see that Apache is moving hundreds of megabytes of data ... somewhere! If I stop Apache, the processor goes back to about 4% and if I restart Apache, it goes back to 100%. I can see that it isn't moving data across my firewall, so it must be an internal problem. Any suggestions?
effigy
What do the logs say? Have you performance tuned?
OhDamn
Thanks, Effigy for your reply. It took me a couple of days to figure it out, but it was a corrupted registry entry for winsock.exe. - Jim
