benji87
Hi all, im trying to install a radius server. This is all new to me so i may be talking rubbish. But i think i need to install a local server environment which includes mysql, php and apache. I have never attempted anything like this before so im quite a newbie. Can someone point me in the right direction in how to install a local server environment?? Im running windows xp sp2. I think i may need to be running linux? Or is that just one way of doing it? Any help info would be much appreciated!
derwert
You can run a radius server from a Windows machine or a Linux machine. Microsoft has a radius solution called IAS; it's available in windows 2000 and 2003(sorry not in XP). There is also a freeware radius server that will run on Windows called TekRADIUS. There is also a Windows version of tinyPEAP. FreeRadius is probably the more widely used daemon for Linux. You don't need MySQL, PHP and Apache to run a radius server.
