I have an external php file put into my main page through an iframe, and I'd like to get from the main page's URL. How would I go about doing this?

If you want to pas the GET data from the parent window then you'll want to feed the GET data to the frame like so:
<frame src="pagename.php?<?php echo $_SERVER["QUERY_STRING"]; ?>">
Now your pagename.php should be able to access the GET data in the parent window.
