Why dont you prefer AHAH instead of AJAX

AHAH works everywhere and it works just as fast as AJAX, even more, AHAH dont need long functions and you may do anything you want, for example:

<?php

$smarty->assign('arrSelected',$arrSelected);

echo '<script type="text/javascript"><!--

window.parent.document.getElementById(\'selected_model\').value = \''.$ref.'\';

window.parent.document.getElementById(\'models\').innerHTML = \''.passThrueAjax($smarty->fetch('portal.sub.reg_models.tpl')).'\';

//--></script>';

?>

Thats all, nothing else needed.. works! Enjoy if interested.

No this is not a problem, its most likely a curiocity, most programmers are using AJAX, which is worse I think that AHAH, but they are kind of similar.

But I dont know much about AJAX, and I wont know unless I have interest in.

If you need links:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AHAH

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ahah+Asychronous+HTML+and+HTTP

its looks pretty good only thing is the return is either text or html/xhtml I think no room for xml :P but I feel its pretty good  ;D maybe I'll use it in a few of my scripts thanks... should be good when only returning text and html

AJAX and AHAH are just different terms for just about the same thing. The Wikipedia article states it's just a subset so there's not much difference.

I myself don't use XML in AJAX but instead JSON encoded data. Just because it's not XML doesn't mean it's not AJAX. Ajax is just the accepted name for the design. At least, that's my spin on it.

If you want to see examples of what I'm doing go here or look around in the source.
