countdrac Posted October 31, 2007 Share Posted October 31, 2007 hi im trying to get onmouseover to highlight whenever it goes over a div it will only highlight when it goes over the text and when i move off the text it executes the onmouseout function even though its still in the div?! it should highlight whenever im in the div - even if not on the actual text until i leave the entire div please help this is the function: function ShowMenu(Item) { document.getElementById(Item).style.visibility = 'Visible'; } function HideMenu(Item) { document.getElementById(Item).style.visibility = 'Hidden'; } function MenuSelect(Item) { document.getElementById(Item).style.background = '#ffff99'; } function MenuDeselect(Item) { document.getElementById(Item).style.background='white'; } heres the div: <div class='yearDiv' id='year' style=' 'position:relative' ' onmouseover="ShowMenu('list'); MenuSelect('year')" onmouseout="HideMenu('list');MenuDeselect('year')">YEAR</div> thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
countdrac Posted November 1, 2007 Author Share Posted November 1, 2007 no worries - there was a problem with the css one of the div boxes involved with where the "highlighting" was taking place. it didnt have anything to do with the text... not that i understand how it but its working!
