ItsWesYo
My friend was joking around with me and sent me an encrypted message. Thing is, I can't figure it out. Any help/ideas on how to figure it out? :\ Õe®p±šs¤'2–c2Ê YeAˆ“‰ðk‘¢&©êtç™%‘¡QÀ eenÍç=üDðÖ¦²%ßé j˜£Ã"JÔ¹L1Ì Ü[vÅŠBtñ%V\—¨ÈÝ@#0ƒ0ì3³\%U½ÃÄgø1Ž MYË@z‡Ðë¿ï”èi€9ˆŸŠ`ÿû˜GÜÅN$Pg¹sþLž,ªÕZBEñ„³XÚªìQ| ±dïŽ#§¥³›^ø*Y6Ej„j”Dƒ¼ØpmdŠÍËÖKC…ð –AE]¥úÁy‡ËÂßÓ,¶ÍìÈ×üP&6ö¬-£¥J.áºÎŸE·:ÁÆé2‰ê£šÁ£E1ßQ0¡pÑ=¥ Ø<+Lö~’)b›«W"S˜ç™ŒEMÀ±ü–¦®èN >’@ȸs Ü€¤^ÞÀ¸ 9â¡‚_ÆlCŒåÁ.ãzb¼ahvÃüÒ;¼‡d-ÒÈÞa¡äþƦ›Ã¹€äþÎ$¨rÚ’(õΖ§qMI /àï3…š‹‚5[…Î<š?%_‹ê3?U°Ï¿ßA¿ýèËFT?ø‚räLžû\(‡Y¥[g¬Éqe0¶9Mà;ôÍl!$ýfH㸎p¥Ú#Ÿ2÷3p'ÉH?+Eiiaã'tetq!di¾9VE 83¸3Ú8ž8
rajivgonsalves
well you just cannot unless you know the algorithm he has used, it could be anything shifting Ascii values to the left to the right...
ItsWesYo
Wes: Hey, what algorithm did you use for that encryption file you sent me? ***: haha, I forgot to give it to you last night because you went offline too quickly. ***: anyway, I encrypted it using the mcrypt encryption functions using one of the three RIJNDAEL algorithms and the password is an MD5 hash of a randomly generated 20 character string. Wes: alright, thanks. Does that help? :\
Youko
Yes, I think there is no way of you cracking that.
ItsWesYo
I mean, is it possible to decode it?
btherl
Youko's right, it's just not possible with today's technology. If he challenged you to decode it then he either doesn't know that, or he's playing around Given that he made an md5 hash of a randomly generated string, I would guess he doesn't know how difficult it is to decode ..
