Hey there,

I have been out of the loop as far as PHP coding goes for awhile now, but now that I have some more free time these days I am ready to get back at it.  I had never really bought any books, I only learned what I could by reading online and writing out code.  But, of course, I only got so far that way.  So now that I am getting back into coding I am ready to take a more serious appouch to my coding and would like to get some PHP books.  I have been Googling for reviews and such, and Sams and O'Reilly always seem to be a favorate.  I had narrowed it down too 2 of Sams books from Amazon:

Teach Yourself PHP in 24 Hours (Sams, 3rd Edition)

PHP and MySQL Web Development (Sams, 3rd Edition)

When I happened to check with Overstock.com and learned that you could pre-order the 4th edition of Sams PHP and MySQL Web Development, publishing on 12/14/2007.  So obviously I will be waiting for the new edition, but I can't findout anywhere in my searching if there will be a new edition of Sams Teach Yourself PHP in 24 Hours.  Does anyone happen to know if/when a new version of that book will be released?  If it will be soon, I would rather wait, but I just can't find anything about it.

Thanks for reading,

Brandon

A fairly new book and the one i use is:

"sams teach yourself PHP, mySQL And Apache All in one"

"sams teach yourself C++ in 21 days"

"sams teach yourself javascript in 24 hours"

"sams teach yourself XML in 24 hours"

The PHP, mySQL And Apache All in one is the best so far in my oppinion. Written by Julie C. Meloni. I believe I got the 4th edition but im not sure where to look on the book. The 4th edition just sounds familiar so I think I read it somewhere efore. Woo!
