atlanta
If you pay for the website server they should already have these 2 included on the server. but if not you will have to install them on the websites server. revraz
MySQL is a Database. If you want to run a website from your PC, then you would install it there. If you have a Server, then you would install it there. It can be a seperate server (recommended) or even on the same machine as the Apache/IIS server. You are not really explaining yourself very well. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/80503-phpmyadmin-and-mysql/#findComment-408126 Share on other sites
PHP_PhREEEk
If your PC is running a webserver locally (ie., localhost), then they will work. They will definitely work on a server, but most servers already have these available. You cannot install MySQL to a remote server unless you own it and have root access. If your webhost has MySQL installed, but phpMyAdmin is not, you can install phpMyAdmin to your web docs quite easily. It, however, is rather tricky to setup so that it is secure... aircooled57
all it says when i run the setup is could not connect to database,it mentions nothing about what is wrong it simply says could not connect which makes me question if i have set it up correctly Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/80503-phpmyadmin-and-mysql/#findComment-408149 Share on other sites
revraz
It mentions exactly whats wrong, it cant connect to the database. You have either the wrong servername, wrong id, wrong password or wrong database in your conf file.
