frost
Hi, I have a client that has an html based site and would like to add some login protection to a few areas. The problem is the client wants to have each person have a unique login (i would store them in an sql database). So my question is: Is there an alternative to htaccess password protection that I could use here? Something that would support multiple login identities and would not require me changing the site over to PHP? Thanks. phpQuestioner
you would not have to convert the whole site to php; just member/user security sensitive areas of the site (the login material from database). frost
right, but how would i check if a person is logged in on the other pages? if someone were to get a hold of a url that was after the login they would be able to view the page as they would not need to login. I hope that makes sense? Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/81241-solved-htaccess-alternative/#findComment-412372 Share on other sites
phpQuestioner
Use PHP Sessions throughout your secure pages. If I were you; I would do some research/searching for user login administration with PHP/MySQL. phpQuestioner
If you do not use a server language like PHP and MySQL; then you will not be able to create a secure login.
