Hi Again,

Just managed to installed PHP version 5.0 and now wondering was it the smart move because my host provider is using version 4.0 ?

my question is will it create a problem if am using ver 5.0 and my host provider using ver 4.0 (compatibility issue) ?

??? Anynyone please before I proceed coding . . . .

The end of life of php 4 is the end of this year, in about 8 days. Except for security patches, no new versions of php 4 will be released.

Your host might have php5 available either through your control panel or a setting in a .htaccess file.

Find out from them how you can switch, or if they don't have php5 available, what is their schedule to provide it.

Everyone needs to upgrade to php5 or get left behind.

There are very few incompatible changes between php4 and php5 - http://www.php.net/manual/en/migration5.incompatible.php
