Hi i have a script which calls a gif banner and outputs the banner but it uses imagecreatefromgif so if the banner it calls is animated only the first frame of the animation is shown.

This is the code that displays the banner-

$im = imagecreatefromgif(PMDROOT.'/'.BANNERS_PATH.'/'.$banners['id'].'.'.$banners['extension']);
    header('Content-type: image/gif');
    ImageGif($im);

Does anybody know what i'd change the above code to display animated gif's

thanks for your help

chris

Does your code to create a GD image from a gif file, then convert the GD image back to a gif file and output it have any use other than to increase the load on the server?

You could just use an image tag and display the animated gif directly.

i just want to recreate that code so it does not use GD image to display the banner. I just need the banner from PMDROOT.'/'.BANNERS_PATH.'/'.$banners['id'].'.'.$banners['extension'] to be displayed.

I've tried-

$image = PMDROOT.'/'.BANNERS_PATH.'/'.$banners['id'].'.'.$banners['extension']
header('Content-type: image/gif');;
echo $image;

But no banner is displayed.
