nimzie
I'm not sure if this should be in the MSSQL or MYSQL Forums, so I'll try here. Thank you for your understanding... I have an MSSQL2005 DB. It's a moodle database and since moodle is meant for both mysql / mssql so I'm assuming that DTS would do a fine job of getting me going. So, I got SQL Express and DTS for that working. Check. Within the DTS Wizard in previous versions, I recall a way to point to the MYSQL Driver, open the MYSQL DB and pump data through (if I am using compatible data types). In my destination drop down combo within the Choose a Destination screen in the DTS wizard, I would have expected to see the MYSQL Option in there. It's not. I take it I need to install something else to get this working? Both MYSQL and MSSQL are working properly on the machine. If I go in to Control Panel->Administrative Options->ODBC, I can choose the MYSQL Driver from the list and create a new DSN to it - yet in this wizard, DTS won't allow me to choose anything MYSQL related. Please advise. Thanks. Adam Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/84526-migrating-from-mssql-2005-mysql/ Share on other sites
nimzie
I'm pretty sure this is one of those skills people are using daily in the 'nix' side of things. My current O.S. is XP and I'm using MS Data Transformation services to try this. Is there another way to migrate from mssql05 -> Mysql? Any assist is much appreciated. - Adam Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/84526-migrating-from-mssql-2005-mysql/#findComment-431123 Share on other sites
