O.k, i played with the script alittle and made it work like this -

//work out the number of members

$qwresult = dbquery("SELECT * FROM airlines_list", $db_connect);
$row1 = mysql_num_rows($qwresult);

//work out the rank
$query = "SELECT * FROM airlines_list  ORDER BY rating DESC";
$result = mysql_query($query);
$ranknumber = 1;

while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) {
$username = $row['username'];

echo "$username is ranked $ranknumber out of $row1<br>";

$ranknumber++;

// increases $ranknumber by 1

BUT, this is not what i was looking for.

This shows in one page all the members and rank them.

I want it to show only one member rank in that page, for example i want it to look for my nickname (Verbat) and show me what is my rank.
