i need advice in drawing text on image

Hi

 

m using php 5.2.5 and im drawing arabic text using imagettftext() function and i load arabic font and is a true type font and it's on the same directory with the script called ar.ttf

i try to draw the text but it appears like [] [] [] []

i try to use utf8_encode but still shows characters as squares

and here is the code:
