Reading messages with imap contain =20

When I read imap messages some emails contain the text "=20" A example of a test email I got today contained this as the body.

 

Yo Bradley...=20

what up?

=20

This is purely a guess, but it appears that the =20 could be removed from each line. I don't think it needs to be replaced but I have no idea what would be causing the =20. Does anyone have any ideas?
