tr33m4n
Hello there, I've encountered a slight problem with the dodgey mysql backup ive made. Basically my server died and in my haste and panic I copied the entire /var/lib/mysql folder thinking this would be fine to backup from, so i replaced my freshly installed /var/lib/mysql folder with the one I salvaged. However when trying to read any of the databases using MySQL Administrator I get this error Could not retrieve schema table definitions from server MySQL Error Nr. 1018 Can't read dir of './tgdb2/' (errno: 13) I fear that I have lost all my data because I didnt dump my databases as .sql first can anyone help? many thanks dan ps: yes, i am a noob Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/86606-solved-stupid-backup-s/ Share on other sites
beebum
Check folder permissions and also make sure that the new install is the exact same version as the old one.
