I am building website on a small company's server and not everything there is working as supposed. Hosting their own site is new to them and setup was error and trial, server configuration file for some reason was missing several chunks on information. I am using .htpassword and .htaccess files, but they are not responding. I use the same files on commercial servers and they work as supposed to. Please advise as to what settings need to be in server configuration file for htpassword /htacces file to work. Thank you in advance.
