ronanlawlor
I am new to PHP and I am just wondering what would be the best package to use that would include PHP, a server and a database. I have found a few but since I am new to PHP I am unsure what would be the best option. Could someone with experience please advise me? ??? Many Thanks. revraz
Are you talking about a Webhost or are you asking for what versions to install? If you want Webhosts, there is a sticky in the MISC forums. ronanlawlor
Thanks for the quick reply revraz, Well I was looking at Xampp and PHP Triad. They were the two that I found. I'm not sure if there are more out there. Basically I used PHP Triad many years ago in college and found it good but I'm wondering if there is a better package that I could use? At the moment I just want to code on my own computer and be able to test my code locally (which is why I want a package with a server). Cheers. mraiur
I think that the best package that is is to install the Apache ,PHP and MySQL separetly . But PHPTriad is very good and easy to install but there is no updates for it . So PHP and Mysql that are included are stone age... The new package that i thing is very good and recently updated is ApacheTriad. ronanlawlor
Hi mraiur, Thats what I noticed about PHP Triad - The same one I used in college is the only one that I can find that is available, which is why I wanted to find a different one. I'll have a look at ApacheTriad instead Thank You.
