[SOLVED] Trouble Finding Function

I need to use a function but I forgot what is was called 

can someone please give me the function name? Ill explain

what it does,

 

lets say i had a directory with these files:

 

index.php

data.xml

song.mp3

list.xml

sort.xml

 

and i wanted to get all the files with the extension .xml

you would use the function like this, (i think)

 

<?php

$extension = ".xml";
$directory = "directory/";

// fake function name
get_files($directory, $extension);

?>

 

then it should return

data.xml

list.xml

sort.xml

 

thats not exactly how the function works

but its something like that, anyways, can

someone please give me the function name?
