Help newbie with a simple php/msql tutorial

I want to design a database site where people can make search about registered members of an organisation. I need a simple tutorial on how I can achieve this using php and mysql.

I will be entering the data myself, just a simple table with Name, Address, Registration Number.

 

Please don't forget to tell me how and when to save my files.
