I'm using phpMyAdmin 2.6.2 and this is the first time I've run across this issue.  It really is bizarre!

When I run a SQL query directly from phpMyAdmin and place a query in one line and press enter, the server will just run and run and not give a response.  Now if I place the exact same query using returns, the server returns the results immediately????

Example 1 that does NOT return a result

SELECT * FROM student WHERE name = 'smith'

Example 2 that returns a result right away

SELECT *
FROM student
WHERE name = 'smith'

Has anyone ever run into this?  It just doesn't make any sense....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Tony
