restoring db.dump.gz

Hope somebody can help here

My old ISP has backed up my database and I would like to restore to a new server and ISP, though I've never done it with this type file. (I used to backup and restore using mysql administrator)

I have created a new database (test), extracted to my pc and noted this line near the top of the backup file

-- Host: localhost Database: db_161700_db1

In simple terms, could someone advise the easiest way to restore (point me to some instructions), can I restore content to a different database?

Thanks

Mark
