aztec
Hello Is it possible using PHP to get a persons name from a MYSQL database and turn it into a "clickable" link, or is it necessary to use a different language. Kind regards
monkeypaw201
<a href="page.php?name=<?php echo $row['name']; ?>"><?php echo $row['name']; ?></a>[/ simple, but should do the trick...
chronister
Make sure you understand the difference between PHP & HTML. PHP does not make a "clickable link". Thats HTML. Even if your using PHP to create the HTML link, it is still HTML. PHP would be used for server side stuff, like to grab information from the database, and once you have validated and ensured that the data exists, and it is the data your expecting, then you use the PHP to echo the HTML you need for the link. So, the answer is Yes with a slight no Hope this does not confuse you. look at what monkeypaw wrote, that is how you use the PHP to fill in the relevant parts of the link to click. aztec
Hello Thanks to both of you, first to monkeypaw201 for providing the actual code to use and to chronister for explaining the relevant parts of the code. Both answers are very enlightening. I will say that for now this topic is closed. Regards
