cgm225
I am using one database within a script, outside a function, which I selected using mysql_select_db(). However, within a function that I am using in the middle of that script, I select a different database to query by again using mysql_select_db() (which I use within my function). However, I want to know what the best way to use the mysql_select_db() function is in this context, because I do not always want to have to again re-select the initial database I was using prior to the function, after the function. uniflare
if you switch the db within the current connection, you will have to switch it back if you need to. presonally i would create a class for mysql operations (connect/select db/query). etc in your situation i would just select the db, and at the end of the function revert to the other db again. hope this helps, Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/92892-using-one-mysql_select_db-outside-a-function-and-a-different-database-within/#findComment-475876 Share on other sites
