coogie
Hi, i have installed mysql and i know it is running because it the control panel it says mysql server is running, and i have created a database and filled it according to a tutorial. But when i set up dreamweaver and try to add a database it gives this error: Can't connect to local mysql server through socket '/var/mysql/mysql.sock(2) I have tried every single answered offered in google and nothing works. Please can someone help me? I'm going crazy trying to figure this out! maybe i should uninstall everything and reinstall? if so, how do i do this? I am running mac os x Leopard 10.5.2 and installed mysql-5.0.51a-osx10.5-x86_64 (and also installed mysql-5.0.51a-osx10.5-x86.dmg) Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/93785-mac-cant-connect-to-local-mysql-server-through-socket-varmysqlmysqlsock2/ Share on other sites
beebum
Verify the location of mysql.sock. I'm not sure about the Mac but on OpenBSD it is in /var/run/mysql/mysql.sock.
