minxie6
I am starting to make web sites, and i am programing by hand in html, php, javascript and my_sql. I was wondering if I am making a mistake as this is how I learnt to program in basic as a kid but never kept it up? what do all you freelance designers use?? cms, do u offer this? cart software? do u modify scripts or make your own?? templates? bad practice? want to learn all i can and fast, and you know your stuff! thanx leah
p2grace
It partially depends on your knowledge of programming. If you're somewhat a beginner using a cms is a good idea. If you're an experienced programmer doing it yourself is usually the best route to go because you can create the program to do exactly what you need, instead of adopting your requirements to the programs that are already on the market. I personally program everything from scratch using Dev-PHP, except I do use the xajax libraries for my ajax coding.
