The Little Guy
is this valid JavaScript? When the function runs, it doesn't update the chatMsg onkeydown event.... The JavaScript: document.getElementById('chatMsg').onkeydown = 'javascript:hitkey(event,\'message\','+(i+1)+');'; The HTML: <textarea id="chatMsg" onkeydown="javascript:hitkey(event,'message',0);" style="width:100%;border:solid 1px #000;"></textarea>
The Little Guy
OK, the best way I have found, is to remove the onkeydown attribute then add it... Like this: document.getElementById('chatMsg').removeAttribute('onkeydown'); document.getElementById('chatMsg').setAttribute('onkeydown','javascript:hitkey(event,\'message\','+(i+1)+');'); If there is any better ways, please let me know.
