ok, heres a url i got off google images:

and when u click it, its not displayed in a browser window ...it actually ask u if u wanna download it onto ur desktop or just open it. (and its not a virus/spyware or nethin)

 

so, here are my questions:

 

a) why do some websites do it this way? prevent any security risks?

 

b) how do u do it? would u have to use htaccess?
