I'm trying to change

We keep getting errors when we try to change out the Spanish to English.

What errors are you getting?  How are you converting it?

Try removing the period after the =

We get unexpected T_STRING errors. We were just changing the text word for word using Notepad. Thank you everyone for the help. I've never worked with PHP before.

Are you still getting the errors after charlieholder's suggestion?  If so, please post a few lines of code above the error down through a few lines of code below the error that way we can see the chunk of code around where the error is taking place.

The problem is in your sentence (the exact word is "you're") you have a single quote which ends the php string prematurely.  I'd change your system to write it like this:
