pwes24
Hello everyone, I have a drop down menu with a list of the 51 states using the <select></select> tags. The problem is when you click to select, the menu starts at the top of the screen instead of dropping down from the position of the menu element on the form. How do I correct this? Thank you in advance! Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/99988-drop-down-menu-alignment/ Share on other sites
rhodesa
Usually this is the browser compensating for not having enough room to display it below the element. Is the element very close to the bottom of the screen? haku
You could *maybe* fix this with javascript (Im speculating, never actually tried). You would have to get javascript to read the contents of the drop down menu and then create and list said contents starting at the current mouse position (or at the dropdown list). You would do this when the menu is clicked, and have javascript return false so that it doesn't also open up the actual menu. rhodesa
It's not really something you should change. It's an expected result. If you REALLY don't it to be below, move it up on the page, or add more white space below it (so the user can scroll down further) Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/99988-drop-down-menu-alignment/#findComment-511783 Share on other sites
