Help with User login

Greetings, I have a fairly simple login system going on..user signs up for account, if its taken it tells them to choose new login name, if its not taken it creates the account. What i'd like to know is how to I create so when the user logs into the system (Using user name & password), i want to display there FULL Name (Such as how Amazon does). What would I need to use? I'd appreciate any help. Im using Dreamweaver MX - I have a little bit of PHP knowledge - and not too much MYSQL knowledge..just a little bit. Regards, Kevin
