I am a total beginner in PHP and hoping to learn about it and find some useful information. I was hoping someone could help me choose one of the below, thanks.

p.s. I know i could study on the laptop but sometimes i prefer to read a book.  :D

The first one refers to PHP 6, which doesn't exist.  All of the features originally planned for version 6 have instead been rolled into 5.3+.  It also only has a 3 star rating, which would make me wary.

The second one isn't even a week old, so it's impossible to tell the quality.

I suggest: http://www.amazon.com/PHP-Web-Visual-QuickStart-Guide/dp/0321733452/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1343151882&sr=1-1&keywords=ullman+php

I started with one of the earlier editions of that book.  It covers all the basics in a very easy to understand manner.

Same here, I started with books that were a step above this had problems then backed up and ordered Ullman's PHP Visual QuickStart Guide.
