Ahh now I'm understanding it, I just had to look a bit deeper into it haha. Are you guys looking out for websites where you can pull those tricks? lol

I barely see any SQL injections and don't know where this is going, I feel like an outsider and would appreciate if somebody could weigh me in into this insider joke. lol

Totally Different Results With My Analytics Software
chaseman replied to chaseman's topic in Miscellaneous
Yeah that's what I thought too, thanks for clarifying. -
The CPanel login does not respond with a CAPTCHA to too many password entry tries - which means a brute force could be used. In general it does not make a too secure impression on me. What about the shared server can it be hacked with FTP? I don't know that much about security that's why I'm wondering.

Totally Different Results With My Analytics Software
chaseman replied to chaseman's topic in Miscellaneous
Sry there was a mistake, I selected the wrong time frame with Google Analytics, now I selected this month and it shows me 87 visitors, so it's near to ClickyAnalytics. I think it is correct now, I also think that these Analytics software do not account the whole bots which visit the site like CPanel does, these analytics software actually may be even more accurate. -
For this month I have this much visitors with... CPanel: 226 GoogleAnalytics: 174 ClickyAnalytics: 67 I can understand that CPanel also accounts the visitors which do not have JS, thus you'd have to subtract some visitors if you choose an analytics software which works with JS - in this sense the Google Analytics track seems realistic to me. But what about Clicky Analytics, compared to the other two it seems very low, how come? Why is it so inaccurate?

Great post, that was what I was looking for. Regarding the last part, there are services which do not log the users as well.

That's pretty good to hear, I think I'll stick with Windows I just like it to much, I just had a look at Linux again in videos and I just don't like the whole geeky Terminal procedure. I'll probably buy some books on security and try to tighten Win7 up and then I'll see if I can use a proxy service like Hide My Ass, if you have any book recommendations let me know.
-
I think it was specific enough, I want to harden the OS so it's hard to hack into, and I want to surf the web anonymously probably through proxy services. But these two goals are harder to achieve than I thought it would be. So I'm trying to figure out how I can achieve these goals. Any books or tutorials to recommend? Can stay with Win7 (since I like it) or should I rather go over to Linux (which I find hard to use)?
-
I simply want 1. a secure system which is hard to hack 2. and I want to surf the web anonymously I'm wondering can I achieve these goals with Windows 7, or would it be necessary to go over to Linux? I researched this and found out that there's more to it than I thought and it it's quite harder to have a tight system than I thought it would be. Are there any resources you'd recommend?

I went with NetBeans.

My only concern with FF is that its UI is not as snappy responsive as Chrome for example.

Which one would you rather recommend strictly for PHP production?

I wanted to become an internet entrepreneur, I have the leadership qualities, at the same time I live in my own world and like to withdraw myself every now and then. I may be able to lead a company, but the question is can I do it non-stop? I may not. A friend of mine said I could become an advise giving expert. I was also interest in becoming an investor one day. I think investing would be something that would fit my style. I can be the lonely wolf I am, I'd be a part owner of a company, I do not have to lead non-stop, I can provide a vision and be a guidance and even give advice. I also can use my good intuition, which is quite good btw. Basically, I have everything in one profession, pretty cool, but that profession is for later when I have enough finances. Do you have any recommendations for somebody like me in my position?

Though, are you saying the Win7 Firewall is not good enough? I've heard a lot of experts mention, that you simply can leave the Win7 Firewall. I'd just like to tighten up Win7 when it comes to security, at the same time I don't want to study so much on it until I'm an expert myself haha.
-
^ I did not try your example, but I think it would not work if you don't have the 3rd row's colspan on 3.
-
I want to reformat my laptop and re-install Win7, and I'm wondering is there any good way to secure up Win7 so tightly that it's hard to make use of any of its holes? Since I know that if certain organisations can hack themselves through the Win 7 Firewall of a person's computer as long as they have the IP which they usually get through the ISP.

Just asking out of curiosity, if I had a script where the user can enter a domain from the web and I wanted to take an automated screenshot of that website, how could I accomplish this? I've seen this on other websites before, how are those automated screenshots taken? Is it difficult to do, are there pre-written scripts I could use?
-
In the third row, you could change the colspan to 3. Or you could put the first td to colspan 2 and the second td to 1. Sometimes it is better to put the colspan attribute into the td rather than tr, but it depends on what you're looking for and how you want the cells to be spaced out.

I bet they'll read Mark's PM's and spread rumors. [sarcasm]

External Server to Store Sensitive Data Securely?
chaseman replied to chaseman's topic in Miscellaneous
Do you have any good example? I searched the web but I did not like most of them. It does not have to be interactive, but an encryption with a secure log-in system sounds good though. -
I have data which I want to store on an external server securely, which I as well can access after a long time period without ever touching the server. I think those free servers would not be a good choice for me since those accounts normally get deleted if one does not log in frequently enough. Using my shared server would as well be as well be bad choice since I find the CPanel not secure enough, AFAIK it does not even have a captcha after too many password entry tries, people could use a password cracker. I'm just wondering are there web services simply for storing files securely, which I could pay for a whole year or two?

I always thought Facebook was over-rated, and honestly I always got laughed at when I said I don't understand Facebook. The one term which comes up in my mind to describe Facebook precisely is "twisted logic", which is what I think of every time Facebook comes up. I never could get into social media anyway, IMO it is a too primitive way of communicating - I just hope Google is going to do a better job.
