1. hmmm.... I'm a bit confused....anyone else?
2. This board was requested by our local MySQL Guru, Fenway.  Since MySQLFreaks was not as active as it should be, we moved him over to the PHPFreaks forums.  This is one of the ways that Fenway is hoping to organize our MySQL Help board.  As always, this is just a trial board to see how well it works out.  The name is pretty much self-explanatory.  It is for questions that you may have should a problem arise while installing and/or configuring MySQL. Enjoy!
3. Any type of editor, but I was going more for free..Zend requires a purchase.
4. Due to the vast amount of topics we get asking about good editors, I have compiled a small list: http://www.mpsoftware.dk/phpdesigner_personal.php (PHP Designer Personal) http://www.regnow.com/softsell/visitor.cgi?affiliate=16087&action=site&vendor=6598 (TopStyle Lite) http://www.regnow.com/softsell/visitor.cgi?affiliate=16087&action=site&vendor=1609 (Notetab Lite) http://www.mozilla.org/ (Mozilla Composer - WYSIWYG) http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/ (Tiny MCE)
5. Here is a list of web hosts that offer PHP and MySQL. It is no where near a full list, but it is most popular. I'm locking this so you can't reply. I am pulling this list from the most popular google searches and reviews on a forum who has a board dedicated to reviewing web hosts. http://www.serverpowered.com http://www.webhostfreaks.com http://www.ace-host.net http://www.godaddy.com http://www.web.com http://www.hostway.com/ http://www.1and1.com/ http://www.icdsoft.com/ http://www.site5.com/ http://www.surpasshosting.com http://www.webfusion.co.uk http://emaxhosting.com http://www.100webspace.com/ http://www.startlogic.com Granted it isn't a big list. But there is a variety of price ranges to choose from. This should keep people from posting over and over and over again for web hosts.
6. Here is a list of commonly suggested FTP Programs to use: FileZilla SmartFTP CuteFTP RightFTP CoreFTP JFTP FireFTP
7. Yes!  Good point SemiApocalyptic. I was just using those as examples, and I was in a rush. LOL!  But please do use a descriptive subject.  Sorry I didn't make them better.
8. I started this board for those who have questions about another programming language.  Are you having trouble with some Ruby code, Perl code, or other code?  Just post it here and someone will try and help you. For best results, include the langauge in your subject. Examples are below: Subject:  [Ruby] Not Working Right Subject  [Ruby on Rails]  Somethings Wrong Subject  [C++] Got a small question Subject  [Perl]  Help! Those are just a few examples, but you get the general idea.  In this way you can ensure that whoever reads your topic knows a small bit about the langauge your topic is about.
9. If you want up-to-date Apache, Mysql, and PHP all configured for you, then I have the place for you. Most programmers like to do it themselves, but there is many problems with that. When you do apache by itself you have to run that stupid console as an open window unless your smart enough to fix it to run in back ground. With Wamp5 it does it all for you automaticaly. Really easy to use and you can still edit your php.ini and your httpd.conf files after the easy wizard installs and configures them for you. No more hassle with trying to get it all working together. The url is: http://www.wampserver.com (french version) http://www.wampserver.com/en/index.php (english version) This should prevent from all the noobies asking questions because they are to lazy to do it themselves.
10. Since people always ask for books to help with php/mysql, i am going to pin this so everyone wil see it and no one will have to keep asking the same question. So just add the books to the list that you think are good.
