Okay, so im setting up my "connect.php" file. When i go to test my sites registration form and hit submit it takes me to this page of errors saying it cant connect to "localhost" and thats just what im using as the server since thats what i tthought it would be.. but i have the database name, username, and password, but i just cant seem to find the server name. im using phpMyAdmin on a freehosing server right now, so its not being hosted on my own person machine.

well alls i got was this: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_IF in /home/a3888506/public_html/register.php on line 1 but if it would help, i could upload the whole file if you would want..

Fatal error: Call to undefined function phpini_set() in /home/a3888506/public_html/register.php on line 1 yeah i uploaed the wrong file but it didnt even go to the fourm it just only showed that.

idk what im doing wrong.. cause i used your code and it didnt change anything..

not to sound stupid. but where would i see taht error out put... lol

yes i noticed that, i actually thought somehow it did it by its self maybe... ill besure to keep that in mind tho. but im gunna look at the firstname thing right quick

i didnt mean to bump it,, i ment to hit modify instead of quote i guess to tell you i got rid of the errors. sorry. but that print var_dump($_POST); didnt help it actually messed it up more...

Okay, so once again i have another problem.. Thank you! that fixed that. but just led to another problem.. lol just like my truck haha. but anyways now when i go to test out the regerstration fourm i fill in all the required fields and hit register and still says i did not fill in all required fields.. sorry that i am being a nussiance, im just new to all of this. Okay so im working on this website, its my first on and everything im doing is all for learning it. well first off here is the line of code im getting the error from: $form = <form action='register.php' method='post'> error reads: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/a3888506/public_html/register.php on line 7 then when i change the line from that to: $form = "<form action='register.php' method='post'>"; it give me an error on the next line and that line is : <table> so like im not sure what to do im new to all of this.
