    PHP Forms

Evening all. I've been reading my book but I'm starting to think I've got years before I can build a decent system. Can anyone recommend a good piece of software that can be purchased that will allow me to build forms to collect data. I don't want to go down the route of paying a monthly subscription. The software would need the following features: 1, user management 2, a form builder with dynamic features that show additional sections based on the user input. 3, ability to Email the report once finished. 4, ability to collect data from reports as a whole. I've seen a programme called Formstack but you have to pay a monthly subscription. NWR
  2. Evening all. Today I've purchased: Sams Teach Yourself PHP, MySQL and Apache - All in One (Forth Edition). The book comes with a CD with software to install. The problem is I've tried to install MySQL as stated in the book but when I get to the final configuration step I get the following message: C:\Program Files (x86\MySQL Server 5.0\bin\MySQLInstanceConfig.exe The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail. Can anyone advise what the problem could be? I did have WAMP installed but I've removed it as I want to follow the instructions in the book. NWR

  5. Okay, he goes please be gentle as I'm new, please don't flame me we all have to start somewhere. Up to know I've installed Wamp and that's as far as I've got. My goal is to build a database that has dynamic forms that can be completed on line. I've seen a number of systems where it has the following features: 1, User Management 2, Email Notifications 3, Dynamic Forms to obtain the data required with reports that can be saved in PDF, Excel etc 4, User Data Storage Area 5, Possible Questionnaire Management I don't want to leach from anyone I want to learn, so if you could point me in the right direction where to start I'd be extremely grateful. I understand that the requirements I've noted above could take years of experience but I need to start somewhere. Best Regards NWR
